Chicopee's eighth Dunkin' opens for business

Editors note: This week's city council coverage is temporarily on hold while I figure out why the clerk's office did not send me 103 pages of supporting documents that typically accompany the meeting agenda. In light of recent Supreme Court rulings that have found that government officials violate the first amendment when they block their critics, The Generative Adversarial News Network has temporarily suspended its "don't piss of the clerk" policy, and plans to vigorously pursue the timely release of all relevant public records.

Chicopee's eighth Dunkin' opens for business

By  Jonathan Gerhardson on February 5, 2024.

A new Dunkin' Donuts restaurant has opened in Chicopee, at the intersection of James Street and Memorial Drive on Monday.

Chicopee is now home to eight of the coffee franchises, three of which are located on Memorial Drive, making it tied for second with  Westfield, Massachusetts for "most Dunkin's Donuts in the Springfield metropolitan statistical area." Springfield has more than 20 of the coffee joints. Exact numbers statewide are not easily verified, but  a rough estimate based on a survey of several sources indicates there are over 1,000 of the establishments in the Bay State.

As a dutiful insomniac and resident of the Commonwealth, yr correspondent visited the new location and ordered a hot medium latte, and  drank it while smoking a non-mentholated cigarette. Conclusion: it's fine. It's coffee.

The new franchise is owned and operated by Cafua Management, which own 53 Dunkin's Donuts in Massachusetts, according to their website.
